About the role

This position sits within the Infrastructure and Planning Directorate, within the Parks and Open Space Unit. This Unit is responsible for the delivery of tree maintenance for Council Tree Assets, predominantly in parks and on roadsides. The purpose of this role is to be an effective member of the Tree Crew, to meet customer expectations and service levels upon completion of proactive and reactive works.

What a typical day will look like;

  • Manage customer expectations and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Work cooperatively with Arboriculture Maintenance Team and other crews within open space team by providing assistance to ensure works are undertaken in a planned and coordinated manner.
  • Operate plant and equipment to maintain the Shire open space arboriculture network in a safe efficient manner regarding Shire work practises and regulations.
  • Carry out team allocated tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Use of electronic devices as required.

What you will bring to the role;

  • Cert 2 ESI
  • Current Victorian driver licence with medium rigid endorsement.
  • Ability to identify and report on tree risk risk/public safety issues and follow appropriate reporting procedures.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
